Countdown in Excel

Let's say you have a class doing a project in Excel and you don't want to keep reminding them (and they don't want to hear you : ) when it is due. Simply have them do the following and a countdown will show in their spreadsheet to let them know when the assignment is due!!! You could also put this in other spreadsheets...on small children's chore charts, countdowns to car payoffs, etc. And this is SUPER easy to do!

1. Type in (A1, A2)) what you want your counter to say and the date you want to countdown/up to. Type in (B2) today's date. Type in (C1, D1) Months and Days.

2. In the B2 formula line, type in =TODAY()

3. In the C2 formula line, type in =$A$2-$B$2

4. In the D2 formula line, type in =$A$2-$B$2

The really cool thing is that each day you open up your spreadsheet, the countdown automatically changes!
