Let's say you have a class doing a project in Excel and you don't want to keep reminding them (and they don't want to hear you : ) when it is due. Simply have them do the following and a countdown will show in their spreadsheet to let them know when the assignment is due!!! You could also put this in other spreadsheets...on class chore charts, countdowns to AR goals, even for your own personal car/bill payoff, etc.
And this is SUPER easy to do!1. Type in (A1, A2) what you want
the title of your counter to be and the date you want to count down/up to. In B2, type in
today's date. In C1 and D1 type in the words
Months and
Days.
2. In the B2 formula line, type in
=TODAY()
3. In the C2 formula line, type in
=$A$2-$B$2
4. In the D2 formula line, type in
=$A$2-$B$2
The really cool thing is that each day you open up your spreadsheet, the countdown automatically changes!
